Samsung Debuts 5nm Exynos 2100 with Faster GPU and Integrated 5G Modem

Exynos 2100 - FeaturedJust a couple of days before the launch of its newest Galaxy S smartphones, Samsung has unveiled its new flagship SoC, the 5nm Exynos 2100, which the company claims offers up to 30% improved CPU multi-core performance over the Exynos 990.

Exynos 2100 uses a new high-performance Cortex-X1 core that clocks in at 2.9GHz, along with three A78 cores, and four high-efficiency A55 cores. It uses the new 14-core Mali-G78 GPU which they claim offers a 40% increase in performance.

The new SoC employs a tri-core NPU built on a new architecture plus a new Image Signal Processor that supports up to 200MP sensors. You can Expect better quality for zoom and ultrawide shots, thanks to its Multi-camera and Frame Processor that combines image data from multiple cameras.

Exynos 2100 packs an integrated 5G modem which can achieve 7.35Gbps (mmWave) and 5.1Gbps (sub-6) downlink speeds.

The new chip is expected to run Samsung’s upcoming flagships, which will officially make their debut tomorrow.
