S-Connect to Start Manufacturing Hinges for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip2 in Q2 2021
S-Connect, the hinge manufacturer for the Samsung foldable phones, has just received its go-signal from Samsung to start working on the hinges for the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip2. The hinge manufacturer will start in Q2 2021 with the production of the devices themselves to follow after.
This supports IceUniverse’s report saying that the next Fold phones can be expected in July.
The hinge maker expects the foldable market to grow to 5.5 million units this year and that foldables will take up an larger fraction of phones sold. The company also foresees that in 2023 hinges will make up 50% of its sales.
S-Connect will also start manufacturing components for the Galaxy Tab S8 and S8+ around the same time. It is also making metal parts for Samsung products some of these include the cases for Galaxy watches and the camera bump of the S21 series.
