Is the realme 8 4G a good smartphone for gaming? on paper, it should be, the Helio G95T SoC has showcased itself to be more than capable enough to handle most popular titles. Coupled with 8GB of RAM, there shouldn’t really be any major issues even with heavy multitasking.
To find out, we pitted the device against our usual set of titles which include a mix of FPS, Racing, and RPG games. We’ll use a software called PerfDog to capture the performance data from the phone for each title, and we’ll also include actual gameplay so you can also see how the game actually plays on the phone.

Gaming Performance – Average FPS
Using PerfDog, we were able to measure average FPS in various titles. We threw in Real Racing 3, Ragnarok Online Next Gen, Genshin Impact, Call of Duty Mobile, Black Dessert Mobile, Mobile Legends, and League of Legends: Wild Rift.
Except for the two more demanding games – Genshin Impact and Black Dessert Mobile, the realme 8 4G managed to squeeze out an average FPS of close or even above 60 FPS. In Genshin Impact where we’re looking for 30 FPS, the device was also able to churn out a decent average of 29.9. Do note though that the gameplay itself does present occasional stutters, but nothing game breaking.
As important as FPS is, it’s equally good to know how a phone manages its thermals during gaming. In this regard, the realme 8 4G managed to sustain its performance throughout the entirety of our tests, with a highest average CPU temperature of 47.3 degrees. The device did get warm after a few minutes of gaming, but not to the point where it’s uncomfortable.
Here are a couple of gameplay samples, so you can see how some of these games play out on the realme 8 4G.
Genshin Impact
Call of Duty Mobile
Ragnarok Online Next Generation
What do you think of the realme 8 4G’s gaming performance? we think that it’s a great phone for gaming, at least for majority of the popular titles today. If you’re into more demanding games like Genshin Impact, that game puts up a challenge even for flagship devices.
realme 8 4G is currently priced at PhP13,990. You can pick one up here.
