Microsoft has announced that Windows 11 will be available starting October 5 for eligible Windows 10 PCs and PCs pre-loaded with Windows 11.
The new Windows version introduces new design and sounds as well as Snap Layouts, Snap Groups, and Desktops that all help with multitasking. Microsoft Teams is also integrated into the taskbar for a faster way to connect with people. Additionally, there are Widgets that brings a personalized feed powered by AI.
Microsoft Store has also been redesigned to make it easier to search and look for new apps, games, shows, and movies. Moreover, in partnership with Amazon and Intel, you’ll be able to install Android apps with a preview for Windows Insider coming over the coming months.
For gamers, the new Windows version also unlocks the full potential of your system’s hardware with technology like DirectX12 Ultimate, DirectStorage, and Auto HDR.
There’s also optimized speed, efficiency, and improved experiences with touch, digital pen, and voice input.
If you’re on an eligible Windows 10 PC, you can check if Windows 11 is ready by going to Settings then Windows Update, then select Check for updates.
