LG Rollable Phone Hands-On Video Reveals What Could Have Been a Cool Device

LG announced last year that it will be backing out from the mobile phone market right after the teaser of a rollable device at CES 2021. The device could have shaken up the foldable phone market if it was released.

Now, after more than a year of the company closing its mobile department, a South Korean YouTube channel released an in-depth hands-on video showcasing this rollable LG device that further demonstrates its potential.

First off, the packaging has a unique design that slides open similar to the device’s display. Inside it, you will see some paperwork, a charging brick, and a USB cable.

After the unboxing part, we get to see the rollable device and as told in the video it has a Snapdragon 888 SoC coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage as well as a 4500mAh battery.

The display boasts a 6.8-inch flexible POLED screen that can expand to a 7.4-inch screen when rolled open.

The camera setup consists of a 64MP main camera with a 12MP ultrawide lens with a fingerprint scanner located underneath the camera island.

These are clearly as good as it gets as far as specs go in 2021 and easily could’ve matched the best of the best as far as specs on paper go.

Aside from the rollable display, another interesting part of the device is the addition of a touch-sensitive volume rocker and power button on the side.

Sadly we won’t see this amazing device in the market anytime soon but maybe we can see other manufacturers take on the alternative to the foldable tech in the near future.
