SK hynix has just introduced the LPDDR5T RAM, the world’s fastest DRAM. It is 13% faster than LPDDR5X RAM, which has recently been used on premium devices.

The T in LPDDR5T stands for “Turbo” and definitely lives up to it. It offers speeds of up to 9.6Gbps compared to 8.5Gbps on LPDDR5X and 6.4Gbps on LPDDR5. The Turbo variant allows 77GB of data to go through in one second.
It was clarified that the new RAM isn’t a new generation of DRAM but is an enhancement of 5X. The new T chip is based on the 1Anm process, the fourth generation 10nm node, and uses the HKMG (High-K Metal Gate process) that reduces power usage and increases speed.
16GB multi-chip packages were already sent to partners with SK hynix revealing its plans to start mass production in the second half of this year. Meanwhile, the applications of the new DRAM include smartphones, AI, and AR/VR.
