Lenovo has recently confirmed that it has discontinued the Legion gaming phones. The last member of the Legion gaming phone series was the Legion Y70 which was introduced in China in August 2022.
Discontinued Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone Series
A Lenovo spokesperson gave a statement to Android Authority where it was explained that the decision was a “part of a wider business transformation and gaming portfolio consolidation”.
“Lenovo is discontinuing its Android-based Legion mobile gaming phones as part of a wider business transformation and gaming portfolio consolidation. As a leader in gaming devices and solutions, Lenovo is committed to advancing the gaming category across form factors, as well as focusing on where it can bring the most value to the global gaming community.”

This explains the lack of news on any other Legion gaming phone. The last Legion phone we officially saw in the Philippines was the Legion Phone Duel 2 with its unique pop-up selfie camera, dedicated cooling fans, and dual charge ports. However, this was also the device that stapped into three in JerryRigEverything’s durability test.
With the doors being closed on the Legion gaming phones, this leaves consumers with the ASUS ROG Phone series, ZTE nubia RedMagic series, and Xiaomi Black Shark phones in the gaming phone market. The first of which is going strong with the ROG Phone 7 set to launch on April 13. Meanwhile, ZTE recently unveiled the RedMagic 8 Pro in the Philippines.
