Meta’s Verification Service Launched  for U.S. Facebook and Instagram Users

The US Facebook and Instagram users may now access Meta‘s paid verification service, which was first made accessible in Australia and New Zealand.

Meta’s Verification Service

If you join up online, the service will cost you USD 11.99/ month (around PHP 656/month), or USD 14.99 (around PHP 820) if you do so through a mobile app store.

The second choice also includes Instagram, whereas the former just lets you receive a blue checkmark for Facebook. In addition to the badge, the service provides “proactive impersonation security,” direct access to customer care, special stickers, and 100 Facebook “Stars” every month to promote other authors.

Requirements to use the service are as follows:

  • 18 years old and above
  • Must go through a verification process
  • Photo ID
  • Need two-factor verification turned on

However, if you are Meta Verified,  whenever you want to change your name, photo, username, or date of birth you will have to go through the same verification process again.

If you live in the US, go to your settings on Instagram or Facebook and choose Accounts Center to begin using Meta Verified. You’ll see “Meta Verified available” under your name and profile photo if the paid verification service is accessible for your account.

You’re good to go after tapping that, adding a payment method, and completing the verification steps.

Also, up until Meta gets rid of the “legacy” verification badges, those who are already confirmed on Facebook and Instagram won’t need to pay for Meta Verified.

*Prices in PHP are direct conversions using the exchange rate at the time the content was published. These are not indicative of actual local pricing and don’t include additional costs like taxes, etc.
