Nothing has just unveiled the Nothing Ear (2), the successor to the company’s inaugural device, the Ear (1).
The overall look of the company’s latest TWS earbuds looks nearly identical to its predecessor albeit for some minor changes. Among these include an indent in the earbud stem as well as a more compact charging case.
The indents in the stems are for press controls which replace the touch controls of the Ear (1). Meanwhile, the charging case is now at just 2.19 inches tall and 2.19 inches wide. In comparison, the charging case of its predecessor measured 2.31 inches tall and 2.31 inches wide.
The Ear (2) also comes with drastic upgrades in software and audio quality. The earbuds themselves are equipped with custom 11.6mm drivers. Additionally, it now supports 24-bit hi-res audio with LHDC 5.0 and a personal sound profile.
The earbuds also offer up to 40dB of adaptive ANC. Moreover, it has a dual connection for easier use between two devices.
As far as battery goes, here’s what they claim:
- Buds – up to 4 hours playback (ANC on); up to 6.3 hours playback (ANC off)
- With Charging case – up to 22.5 hours playback (ANC on); up to 36 hours playback (ANC off)
The charging case charges via USB Type-C as well as supports wireless charging of up to 2.5W. The earbuds are rated at IP54 while the charging case has an IP55 rating.
