MediaTek Dimensity 7050 Silently Launched

MediaTek has just silently its latest midrange chipset – the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 equipped with an integrated image signal processor (ISP). The new chipset is the third member of the Dimensity 7000 series and slots between the Dimensity 7200 and 7020.

The Dimensity 7050 is built on the TSMC 6nm process. It has two ARM Cortex-A78 performance cores running at 2.6GHz and six ARM Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 2.0GHz. It also features an ARM Mali-G68 MC4 GPU.

The integrated ISP allows the new chipset to support cameras of up to 200MP compared to the 108MP support of the Dimensity 7020. Additionally, it has hardware-accelerated depth detection for improved portrait mode for smartphones.

Regarding video recording, the 7050 supports up to 4K video recording at up to 30fps with support for HEVC or h.264 encodings.
