Nothing has just revealed Nothing Chats, a messaging app that will bring Apple’s iMessage to Android devices, exclusively on the Nothing Phone (2) starting November 17, 2023.

Chats aims to offer a solution to one of the biggest frustrations between Android and iOS users. The app is powered by Sunbird and will allow you to directly message other phone users from your Nothing phone via blue bubbles.
How does it work?
You’ll have to log in with your existing Apple ID username or create a new account when you open the messaging app. From there, it seems like you’re good to go to send and receive blue bubbles.
How about security?
Nothing clarified that Chats is built on the Sunbird platform and all Chats are end-to-end encrypted. Moreover, your information will be stored only on your device and not on Sunbird’s servers.
Where will Nothing Chats be available?
According to Nothing, the app will “only be available for Phone (2) users in the US, Canada, UK, and EU at this time.” The messaging app can be downloaded via the Google Play Store starting November 17, 2023.
Additionally, the company revealed that it will bring the app to more places. It is uncertain if it will be made available for the Nothing Phone (1) though or for other Android devices, as of writing this. If we were to take a guess, we can expect it to be rolled out for other devices at a later date.
