“Angcars is designed to be an advanced ride-hailing app that seamlessly blends affordability with user-friendly navigation,” he said during the town hall.
This isn’t the first time that a motorcycle-hailing application moved into a car service with JoyRide offering a car and taxi services. Moreover, while Grab started as a car-hailing company, it acquired Move It to expand to motorcycle-hailing.
Angkas also introduced its new Health and Padala services recently for its current motorcycle-hailing app. The former will bring healthcare services to Filipino homes including home service blood testing by PRC-licensed medical professionals. Meanwhile, the latter is an app equipped with digital seller toosl, payment, and disbursement access and courier services.
Meanwhile, for its riders, the company introduced a financial inclusion initiative called AngKash.
“Through partnerships with automobile manufacturing giant Honda and Uno Bank, founded on the collective goal of nurturing a new generation of micro-entrepreneurs among Angkas bikers, the revamped AngKash aims to extend this initiative to a larger portion of the biker fleet. The program offers reduced interest rates to enhance financial flexibility and mobility,” the company said in a statement.
The motorcycle-hailing service company has yet to reveal more about its Angcars service though. We expect to learn more about it when it is launched later this year.
