HONOR has announced that it will introduce its innovative AI Deepfake Detection feature, scheduled for its official debut at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025. This comes at a critical time when deepfake-related incidents are presenting escalating challenges to global cybersecurity.
HONOR Combats Deepfakes with AI
This innovative AI system demonstrates exceptional accuracy in identifying manipulated content using a comprehensive analysis of multiple factors, including eye contact patterns, lighting consistency, image clarity, and video playback characteristics.
The development addresses a significant market need, as evidenced by a 244% surge in deepfake incidents between 2023 and 2024. Nearly 50% of global companies reported deepfake-related incidents in 2024, while many organizations still lack protective protocols against these threats.
As noted by Marco Kamiya, UNIDO Representative: “With mobile devices storing vast amounts of personal data, AI Deepfake Detection is a powerful tool to combat fraud and privacy risks, enabling individuals and industries to thrive in a secure digital environment.”
The technology provides real-time alerts to users when potential deepfake content is detected, enhancing digital security and privacy protection.
