MediaTek has just revealed its flagship Dimensity 9400 Plus SoC, targeting premium Android smartphones with significant advancements in AI, gaming, and connectivity. This move underscores MediaTek’s ambition in the high-end mobile sector.

The Dimensity 9400 Plus boasts an innovative All-Big-Core CPU architecture, featuring a 3.73GHz Arm Cortex-X925 prime core, three Cortex-X4 cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores. This configuration promises substantial performance gains for both single and multi-core tasks.
Additionally, the MediaTek NPU 890 is a key focus in on-device AI, optimized for running complex large language models, enhancing privacy, and enabling offline functionality. It uses technologies like MoE, MLA, and FP8 inferencing, accelerating tasks.


The 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU enhances gaming with improved visuals and detailed opacity mapping. Frame Rate Converter 2.0+ smooths gameplay by doubling frame rates and reducing power consumption. Connectivity upgrades include extended Bluetooth range, faster BeiDou satellite acquisition, Wi-Fi 7 support, and a 5G modem.
Moreover, the Imagiq 1090 ISP enhances multimedia capabilities, allowing HDR video recording and Smooth Zoom tracking, while the company emphasizes the Dimensity 9400 Plus’s efficiency in handling demanding workloads.
