realme Buds Air 2 Debut with ANC
realme has just launched the Buds Air 2 true-wireless earphones alongside the Narzo 30 series.
Despite being the successor to the original Buds Air, the realme Buds Air 2 look more similar to the Buds Air Pro.
The new TWS offering is powered by the custom R2 chip which is said to offer 80% increased battery life and reduce latency by 35% compared to the Buds Air. The new Buds Air features a 10mm driver in each bud with Diamond-like Carbon (DLC) coating on the diaphragm. This offers richer bass, clearer sound, and better frequency response than a traditional diaphragm.
realme also introduced a new Bass Boost+ mode which was developed in collaboration with The Chainsmokers. The company also added Dynamic and Bright presets to the realme Link App. The earlier balances bass, treble, and mid, while the latter enhances human voice.
The highlight of the Buds Air 2 is the addition of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) reducing noise by up to 25dB. It can also filter out low-frequency sounds, including the rumble of airplanes and the noise of appliances.
In addition, it also has two microphones on each bud used for Environmental Noise Cancellation for clearer calls.
The new TWS earphones feature Smart Wear Detection, support touch controls, and connect via Bluetooth 5.2 with dual-channel transmission. It also comes with a better Game Mode which comes with 88ms latency. This is a massive upgrade to its predecessors’ 120ms latency.
The company didn’t mention the actual capacity of the batteries but the earbuds themselves are said to offer five hours of playback on a single charge. If used with the charging case, you’ll get 25 hours of playback with ANC off and 22.5 hours with ANC on.
Although, like the Buds Air Pro, the Buds Air 2 doesn’t have wireless charging but it does support fast charging which gives you two hours of playback with a 10-minute charge. They also are IPX5 rated.
The realme Air Buds 2 come in two colors – Closer Black and Closer White. As far as price goes, it goes for INR 3,299 and will be available starting March 2 in India.
