Microsoft has just announced the successor to its Dual Screen Smartphone, the Surface Duo. The Surface Duo 2 looks much like its predecessor in most ways, but showcases improvements in many areas.
Surface Duo 2 has dual 5.8-inch AMOLED panels with a resolution of 1892 x 1344 pixels, and a refresh rate that can go up to 90Hz. Maximum brightness is 800 nits, and the screens are protected with Gorilla Glass Victus.
Under the hood is a Snapdragon 888 SoC along with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of storage. It packs a 4449mAh battery with support for 23W fast-charging via a USB-C port. There’s no wireless charging, unfortunately.
For optics, the device now boasts a triple rear camera system – a 12MP wide-angle shooter, a 12MP 2x telephoto lens, and a 16MP ultra-wide unit. It can record up to 60fps in 4K and up to 240fps in 1080p. Surface Duo 2 supports the new Surface Slim Pen 2, which magnetically attaches to the device for charging.
As for pricing, Surface Duo 2 starts at $1,500 and comes in Glacier and Obsidian colors.
