Samsung Electronics is actively working to improve environmental sustainability for the current and next generations.
They feel that because of the size and complexity of their organization, which is unique, their continual investments in environmental health have the potential to have a big influence.
Samsung’s Sustainability Efforts
The Korean tech giant wants to improve resource circularity for their electronics goods over the whole product lifetime as part of the new strategy.
They already built the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Flip4 with recycled plastic from fishing nets, and they intend to extend this to new goods. In order to save energy, they will also include low-power technology in the most popular versions of seven consumer electronics products: PCs, Televisions, monitors, air conditioners, refrigerators, cellphones, washing machines, and TVs.
Sustainability involves everyone
A company-wide endeavor involving everyone, including us at SEAO(Southeast Asia & Oceania), and it requires all hands on deck.
The majority of the Samsung Service Centers in the region use the integrated global customer support system, and the company has incorporated eco-friendly procedures at all of its locations as it works to eliminate paper use.
You may now exchange receipts, service records, and paperwork related to product repairs online by message or email.
Reducing E-waste
E-waste ‘Eco Boxes’ are also available in over 180 Samsung Service Centers in SEAO currently, such as major cities like Auckland, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, and Sydney, allowing you to conveniently dispose of your old mobile phones and recycle them in a proper way.
To reduce e-waste, you can also choose to replace only the defective parts of your product instead of replacing assembly modules through Eco Repair.
Taking action to create a better planet for all
The company takes its environmental responsibilities extremely seriously. They recognize that one company’s strategy will not be a solve-all solution, Samsung is making this bold bet to ensure it plays an active role in the protection of the planet for our younger and future generations.
