GCash has announced a strategic partnership with Viamericas, a Florida-based cross-border money transfer company. This collaboration aims to provide Filipinos in North America, particularly the US and Canada, with seamless and real-time remittance services directly to GCash accounts in the Philippines.

As stated in a recent news release, the partnership is designed to simplify and expedite the process of sending money home, making it “easier and hassle-free” for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
Albano emphasized that the partnership with Viamericas is a direct response to the need for fast and secure financial services for Filipinos living in North America and their families in the Philippines.
Viamericas co-founder and executive chairman Joseph Argilagos highlighted that the collaboration with the local digital wallet will significantly expand Viamericas’ capabilities within the Philippines by integrating its services with a widely used local fintech platform. “This partnership perfectly aligns with our mission to empower communities by providing accessible, affordable, and reliable financial services,” Argilagos stated.
Viamericas’ extensive network of locations across North America will make it convenient for Filipinos throughout the region to utilize the new remittance service. Given that approximately 81% of Filipinos have a GCash account, this partnership is expected to provide widespread access to convenient and efficient financial services.
