Nothing has just officially revealed the back panel of the Nothing Phone (3a) series and detailed its camera setup.
Nothing Phone (3a) Series Design
The most prominent change in the Nothing Phone (3a) series compared to its predecessor is its camera module. Aside from an additional camera, the module itself is drastically larger and deeper for what we expect is the Pro variant. This, we assume, is mostly thanks to the addition of the periscope telephoto lens.
Moreover, Nothing revealed at least two color options for the Phone (3a) series – Black and what looks to be Grey.
The bottom of the back panel also has an aesthetic change with a simpler design compared to the more curved design of the Phone (2a) and Phone (2a) Plus.
In addition to the back panel reveal, the company confirmed the lenses of the Nothing Phone (3a) series comprised of a 50MP OIS main camera, a 50MP OIS periscope Sony lens, an 8MP ultrawide Sony snapper, and a 50MP front snapper. We assume that this specific configuration is for the Phone (3a) Pro.
The periscope telephoto is also detailed to offer 3x optical zoom, 6x lossless zoom, 60x ultra zoom, and double as a macro sensor. The back panel will also be protected by glass, which is a good upgrade from the plastic of the Phone (2a) series.
The video posted by the company also showed an extra button below the power button. However, what it does, it wasn’t stated. It could be an Action Button or a camera button but we hope it’s customizable.
While it wasn’t clearly stated, there have been rumors and leaks that the base variant of the Phone (3a) series will come with a different camera design. It is expected to be similar to the Phone (2a) series lined up horizontally but with a third camera, which we expect to be a telephoto lens.
We expect to learn more about the Nothing Phone (3a) series in the following days to build up more hype for its launch on March 4.
