Viber CEO Ofir Eyal highlighted the company’s strategy to streamline the payment process by embedding the e-wallet directly within the messaging interface. This integration aims to eliminate the “friction” of switching between separate payment platforms and messaging apps, a common pain point for users.

Moreover, Viber Pay aims to simplify transactions and enhance user experience by combining the messaging app with the payment process, as Eyal noted.

The platform is acquiring operational licenses for Viber Pay in the Philippines. The company plans to expand Viber Pay’s capabilities through bank partnerships, debit and credit card integration, and a user rewards system by 2025.

In addition, it is introducing new ad formats, including full-screen, video, and generative response ads, along with list messages and carousel-type catalog messages, to enhance user-business interactions.

The platform’s growth in the past year, including a 21% increase in monthly users, a 194% surge in new business accounts, and a 74% rise in consumer engagement, demonstrates Viber’s commitment to providing valuable tools for both users and businesses.
