The two new members of the MSI’s GeForce RTX 3080 family are almost identical to the GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio 10G unveiled last year. They also use the same Tri Frozr 2 cooling system with triple fans.

The new duo shares the same dimensions as the previously announced GeForce RTX 3080 GPUs at 323x140x56mm. They slightly vary in weight though. The GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio 10G weighs in at 1,565g, while the GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming Z Trio 10G and GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming Trio Plus 10G weigh in at 1,537g.

The backplates of the new offerings feature more diagonal cutouts which could help heat dissipation but it is uncertain if they use the same plastic with composite graphene coating backplate material as the GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio.

The biggest difference between the GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming Z Trio 10G and the previously announced GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming X trio 10G is in the boost clock speed. The former arrives at 1,830MHz boost clock, this is 15Mhz faster than the latter.

The GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming Trio Plus 10G, on the other hand, looks to be a revised version of the GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming Trio 10G with the backplate being the biggest difference. The two share the same 1,755MHz boost clock speed.

Moreover, the two new MSI GeForce RTX 3080 GPUs are still rated with up to 340W power consumption and retains the three 8-pin PCIe connectors. The minimum recommended capacity for a power supply is still at 750W. They both support up to four simultaneous monitors with one HDMI 2.1 port and three DisplayPort 1.4a ports.
