vivo S9 5G and S9e 5G Launched with 64MP Triple Camera
vivo has just announced the vivo S9 5G and S9e 5G – the successors to the vivo S7 with a similar design but upgraded hardware.
The vivo S9 5G and S9e 5G share most of the spec sheet but differ in chipset, memory configuration, battery, and front sensor.
They share a 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10+. The S9 5G houses a 44MP main front camera joined by an 8MP ultrawide lens in its notch, while the S9e 5G replaces this with a lone 32MP camera.
The S9 5G and S9e 5G have the same 64MP main triple camera unit in the back joined by an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro lens.
The S9 5G has a MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chipset at the helm along with two memory configurations – 8GB RAM/128GB internal storage or 12GB RAM/256GB internal storage. It features a 4000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging support.
The S9e 5G, on the other hand, has a MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC coupled with 8GB RAM and 128/256GB internal storage. It gets its juice from a slightly larger 4100mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.
Both devices run on OriginOS based on Android 10 out of the box.
The price for the different configurations of the vivo S9 5G and S9e 5G goes as follows:
- vivo S9 5G (8/128GB) – CNY 2,999
- vivo S9 5G (12/256GB) – CNY 3,299
- vivo S9e 5G (8/128GB) – CNY 2,399
- vivo S9e 5G (8/256GB) – CNY 2,699
As far as availability goes, the vivo S9 5G will be available starting March 12 in China, while the S9 5G has yet to be announced.
