nubia RedMagic 6R Launched with a Snapdragon 888 SoC

nubia has just unveiled the RedMagic 6R, a slimmer variant to the RedMagic 6 series with less of a gaming design to it.

The nubia RedMagic 6R is built around a 6.67-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 360Hz touch sampling rate. The new device also has a punch-hole at the top center for its upgraded 16MP front camera.

In addition, the 6R has shoulder triggers but are touch sensors instead of physical keys. They offer 400Hz touch sampling rate.

It packs a quad camera in the back, sharing the 64MP and 8MP ultrawide cameras with the RedMagic 6 and 6 Pro. Although, the 6R upgrades the macro lens to a 5MP sensor and adds a in a 2MP depth lens.

Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 powering it coupled with 6/8/12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The 6R takes a downgrade in the battery department compared to its earlier announced siblings. It packs a 4200mAh battery with 55W charging in China and 30W support for the global variant. This is down from the 5050mAh battery of the vanilla RedMagic 6 with 66W support in both China and international version and even more so on the Pro version that went up to 120W in China.

The RedMagic 6R is launching in China in three colors and a limited edition in yellow developed alongside Tencent Games. The device is priced at:

  • 6GB + 128GB – CNY 2,699
  • 8GB + 128GB – CNY 2,999
  • 12GB + 128GB – CNY 3,299
  • 12GB + 256GB – CNY 3,599
  • 12GB + 256GB (limited edition) – CNY 3,999

It will have its first flash sale on June 1.
