Huawei, in collaboration with Vogue Philippines, staged a celebration of fashion-next, future-next innovation, and elegance for the official launch of the HUAWEI Pura 80 Series in the Philippines.
The event was held at the BGC Arts Center, Taguig City, last August 7, and it was made more remarkable by the HUAWEI XMAGE Photography Exhibition.
HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra, Pura 80 Pro, and Pura 80 – PH Launch
The spotlight was on the HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra and HUAWEI Pura 80 Pro, the top-specced devices of the HUAWEI Pura 80 series, and are now available for pre-order in the Philippines.
The HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra debuts the first switchable Dual Telephoto Camera system. It combines a 3.7x mid-telephoto and a 9.4x ultra-telephoto lens in one unit, backed by a 1/1.28-inch sensor. This enables the largest telephoto light intake to date.
A micro-level motor powers the seamless switch between focal lengths with over 140 components that drive a compact system and increase the light path versus traditional telephoto modules.
The HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra features a revolutionary 1-inch Ultra Lighting HDR Camera, which works in tandem with the AI Cinematic Engine to deliver lifelike video with rich detail and natural contrast.
The HUAWEI Pura 80 Pro, on the other hand, uses an Ultra Lighting Macro Telephoto Camera with a Super Close Focus of up to 5cm. It allows you to capture textures and fine details with stunning clarity. It also shares the 1-inch Ultra Lighting Camera and has the Ultra Chroma Camera.
The HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra features a 2nd Gen Crystal Armor Kunlun Glass with up to 16x scratch resistance and 25x drop resistance. Meanwhile, its Pro sibling has the 2nd Gen Kunlun Glass, which offers up to 20x drop resistance. The duo boasts IP69 and IP68 dust and water resistance.

Huawei also kicked off the XMAGE Awards 2025, a prestigious global photography competition that celebrates creative vision and the art of mobile photography. This year’s winners will be honored at the XMAGE Annual Ceremony and Exhibition, which will take place at the Grand Palais in Paris this November.
