Kojima Productions Announces New Games Ahead of Tokyo Game Show 2025

Ahead of Tokyo Game Show 2025, Kojima Productions celebrated its 10th anniversary with a special “Beyond the Strand” livestream, offering fans a glimpse into its secretive upcoming projects. The event, held on September 23, showcased new details for the highly anticipated horror game OD and the next-generation espionage title, Physint.

New Look at Horror Title OD

A new trailer for OD, a horror project developed in collaboration with Xbox Game Studios, was unveiled during the presentation. Xbox head Phil Spencer, who joined Hideo Kojima on stage, described the game as “bold, unique, and unmistakably from this studio”.

The gameplay footage, rendered in Unreal Engine 5, featured a tense sequence where a character lights candles in a dark environment. One candle, disturbingly shaped like a baby’s head, began to bleed when lit, followed by the sound of a baby crying. The trailer confirmed the game will star Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer, and Udo Kier. Kojima emphasized his intention to create a new kind of horror experience, stating the project is an experimental endeavor that merges psychological horror with technological immersion.

He also presented a brief in-engine look at Hamabe’s character model. Kojima has previously described Physint as a “brand-new, original IP” and a “next-generation action espionage game”.
