TCL announced quite a lot at MWC 2021. It announced the Alcatel 1L Pro and Alcatel 1 (2021) as well as teased an affordable 5G device. In addition to the phones, the company also announced a new kids’ watch, an 5G outdoor router, and a headset.
But for now, we’ll check out the two new smartphones.
Alcatel 1L Pro
The Alcatel 1L Pro is built around a 6.1-inch IPS LCD panel with 720p+ resolution. Housed in a waterdrop notch is a 5MP front camera.
Around the back, it has a 13MP main camera accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. It looks like there’s a third sensor, however it’s just an AI label. The back also features the fingerprint scanner.
The 1L Pro is powered by an unnamed octa-core chipset along with 2GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage via microSD slot. Additionally, it runs with Android Go.
Alcatel 1 (2021)
The Alcatel 1 (2021), on the other hand, is a smaller and more basic device. It has a 5-inch display with 480×960 resplution. It features a 2MP front camera and a lone 5MP rear snapper. Both cameras are capable of shooting 720p video at 30fps though.
Despite it being pretty basic, it supports 4G connectivity thanks to its MediaTek MT6739 chipset coupled with 1GB RAM and 16GB of expandable storage up to 32GB via microSD card.
The new device features a small 2000mAh battery with less than 5W charging over microUSB. Like the 1L Pro, the Alcatel 1 (2021) runs on Android Go.
Price and availability
The Alcatel 1L Pro is available for around USD 127. It officially launches in September in Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.
Meanwhile, the Alcatel 1 (2021) will sell for EUR 59 in Europe and Latin America. It will officially be available in August.
